全長10メートルを超える巨大なドラムを作った。ミャンマーとインドの国境地帯に暮らす少数民族、ナガ族のユニークな文化の１つだ。 東南アジアの西端、タイとインドに挟まれるように位置しているミャンマーは、優に100を超える民族が暮らす多民族国家だ。そしてその北西部、インドと国を分かつように位置する丘陵地帯に暮らしているのがナガ族だ。ミャンマーで暮らすナガ族の多くは、奥深い山の中で自給自足の生活を送っている。厳しい地理的要因と複雑な政治的背景が相まって、彼らが住まう丘陵地帯への入り口は長らく閉ざされてきた。そのため、ユニークな文化を今でも色濃く残している。2016年の2月から3月にかけて訪ねたサパロ村で、ナガ族が古くから受け継いできた巨大なドラム作りに立ち会った。見たことも聞いたこともないような出来事に釘ずけになりながら、毎日記録を続けた。当時の記憶を紡ぎ、この「ナガのドラム」を作った。 （67分／2019年／2016・2017年撮影／HD／カラー） 【撮影・編集・整音】井口寛 東京ドキュメンタリー映画祭2020（東京、大阪）上映作品
