◆2013年度キネマ旬報ベスト・テン 文化映画部門 第6位 原発から30キロ以上も離れていながら、風向きと降雪・降雨のために大量の放射能に汚染され、「全村避難」を余儀なくされた福島県・飯舘村。酪農の生業を失い、家族離散に追い込まれた二つの家族の「その後」の生活と、故郷や家族への思いを描きながら、原発事故がもたらした“故郷喪失”の深刻な傷痕をあぶり出す。 避難までの2，3ヵ月間に及ぶ放射能被曝の不安、とりわけ幼い子どもたちへの影響に若い親たちは怯え苦しみ続けている。一方、政府は村民の帰村と村の復興をめざし、2011年末から「除染」効果の実験事業を開始した。しかしその効果は「子どもたちが安心して暮らせる」レベルにはほど遠い。村人の中から、数千億円にも及ぶ莫大な費用のかける除染で、ほんとうに帰村できるのかという疑問や不安、不信の声が噴出する。「帰りたい。しかし帰れないのでは？ ではどうする？」――2年に及ぶ避難生活の中で、飯舘村の村びとたちの葛藤と苦悩は続く。
◆ゆふいん文化・記録映画祭 第5回「松川賞」受賞 長年、“パレスチナ”を取材してきたジャーナリスト・土井敏邦にとって、原発事故という人災によって故郷を追われる飯舘村の村人たちは“パレスチナ人”だった。 住み慣れた土地からの避難を強いられた農民や酪農家たちは生活基盤を失い、家族は離散する。冷害に苦しむ貧しい農村から、創意工夫と努力で“誇れる村”を創り上げてきた住民たちは、村を去らざるを得ない今、“故郷”とは何かを自らに問い、語る。 大人たちの間で翻弄される子どもたちの苦悩、その愛しい子を放射能に晒さざるをえなかった親たちの葛藤、「村を残す」をこと優先させた為政者たちへ住民の疑問と不審。放射能への不安と故郷への想いとの間で揺れ動く、「日本の中の“パレスチナ”」飯舘村の現実を記録する。
